Marc Gallagher

Venue: The Friendship

Date: Friday 25th August

Starting out working out the Crazy Frog theme song on piano at the age of 12, I swiftly expanded my musical repertoire over a handful of years. I can now play 10 instruments (Guitar, Bass and Ukulele being my strongest), and with a shameless musical upbringing of Queen and NOW CD’s, I swiftly started writing mostly Pop songs, spanning a variety of topics and emotions.

As a cover artist I pride myself in my versatility. Whether the crowd want to dance on tables to pub-rock, laugh with nostalgic fondness over underrated hits of their childhood, or absorb gentle background ambiance, I adapt my set to whatever the gig demands.

Gigging is a word somewhat synonymous with me, due to an extensive catalogue of previous performances, especially in 2016. A crusade of playing every single day for 3 months saw me playing gigs and festivals in Crewe, Nantwich, Liverpool, Wigan, Chester, Manchester, Northern Ireland and Berlin. I like to show that I’m a hard worker…

Other credentials include supporting ITV’s Number 1 Family Band Beardsmith, playing onstage with Walk Off The Earth, and supporting Harry Styles’ old band White Eskimo. Name dropping session over.

I released my debut album ‘Hello Cruel World’ in early 2016, and alarmingly the music video for the track ‘Baseball Game’ was played at SXSW (South By South West) 2016 in Austin Texas! I have also made my mark in the ukulele scene, with performances at The Ukulele Festival of Scotland, Grand Northern Ukulele Festival, Berlin Ukulele Festival and The Ukulele Festival of Great Britain all under my belt. My second album ‘Songs From A Shit Summer’, is out now on iTunes and Spotify
